The World Health Organization says that violence against women in the home should never be considered a “private matter.”
In a post shared late Sunday night (Monday, April 5) on X, the organization stated that violence by an intimate partner is the most common form of violence, and it is often endured in silence.
WHO added that there is a lack of attention to violence against women.
The organization called for believing survivors of violence and urged families to teach boys respect and equality.
WHO also called for the provision of support services for victims of violence.
This comes at a time when many women are facing domestic violence, and many of them do not have access to any support mechanisms.
According to the penal principles of Taliban courts, women can only take cases of violence by their partner to court if it results in serious physical harm, such as wounds or broken.
