The European Union says that the shooting of civilians in Injil district of Herat is unjustifiable.
The EU Delegation to Afghanistan, last night (Saturday, April 11), described the attack on civilians at the Sayyid Mohammad Agha shrine in Deh Mehri village of Injil district as brutal, and expressed solidarity with the victims of the incident.
In the shooting carried out by unknown armed individuals on civilians in Injil district of Herat on Friday (April 10), more than 30 people, including women and children, were killed.
Local Taliban officials in Herat have confirmed the deaths of 11 people and said that eight others injured in the incident, two of whom are in critical condition, are receiving medical treatment.
European Union officials will meet with a Taliban delegation next week in Brussels.
