The Taliban in Herat Province closed Behzad’s art Gallery and Habibi’s Art School due to the presence of two young girls.
Sources told Ravi Zan that on Wednesday, the 6th of September, the Taliban forces sealed Behzad’s art Gallery and Habibi’s Art School due to the presence of two underage girls who were learning penmanship and calligraphy there.
Mohammad Ebrahim Habibi, the manager of Behzad’s art Gallery said that this is the first time that the biggest art center and academy in the field of Islamic art, after forty years of activity, is closed by the Taliban.
The Taliban, who banned any kind of education for girls in Afghanistan, closed at least one school and two educational institutes in Ghazni province due to the presence of girls in recent days.
