Two Afghan women who are women’s rights activists in Norway started a hunger strike in front of the parliament of that country.
Huda Khamosh and Mineh Rafiq, two Afghan women living in Norway, started a hunger strike today (Thursday, 8th of September) to support the demands of protesting women in Cologne, Germany.
They said that they got permission for this sit-in from the Norwegian police for six days.
Sixteen women’s rights activists from Afghanistan and Iran started a hunger strike in the city of Cologne, Germany eight days ago in protest against the Taliban’s single-sex approach.
These women demanded the recognition of gender apartheid in Afghanistan by the international community, especially Germany and America.
The ending of financial aid to the Taliban and the release of political prisoners in Afghanistan are among the other demands of these women.
In the past few days, many civil activists, artists and human rights activists supported this movement and asked to pay attention to the demands of these women.
