Fatemeh Jami, an Afghan athlete, won a gold medal at the Beirut Open Taekwondo Championships in Lebanon.
Fatemeh Jami, an Afghan taekwondo athlete and refugee who participated in the Beirut Open Taekwondo Tournament from Iran, won the first place in the 172 cm category of juniors, defeating Lin Kanaj from Lebanon, and in the final match, she won the first place by defeating Naya Al Kayali from Jordan. Sh won this round of the competition.
Previously, in 2023, she was able to win a gold medal from the United Arab Emirates, a silver medal in Turkey’s free taekwondo competition, and two bronze medals from the Kim Eun-young Taekwondo competition and South Korea’s free taekwondo competition.
Malika Barbari, another Afghan girl taekwondo player, lost two to one against Maria Dib from Lebanon in the junior division of this round of the competition, in the height category of 144 cm, and won the silver medal.
