Human Rights Watch published a statement saying that the Taliban continued to violate the rights of Afghan women and girls, including severe restrictions on the rights to freedom of travel, education and work.
This organization said that the Taliban’s abuse of people, especially women and girls in Afghanistan, is a crime against humanity and gender harassment.
The human rights watch said in a statement tonight (Monday, 11th of September) at the same time as the meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council: “A lot of actions remains to defend the rights of Afghan women and girls.”
The organization’s statement stated that the joint report by the Special Rapporteur and the Working Group on Discrimination against Women and Girls, published in July 2023, was an important step; But this council must fully implement its recommendations.”
The Human Rights Watch considers the Taliban responsible for the worsen of the situation in Afghanistan.
In this statement, the Human Rights Council asked to take more and more effective measures to end the Taliban’s long-term impunity for serious and international crimes.
