He added that the deprivation of girls from education in Afghanistan causes long-term damage to the entire country.
Guterres stated that: “Girls belong to school. Let them go back to school.”, and asked the Taliban to end the ban on girls’ education in Afghanistan.
Two years ago, the Taliban banned girls above the sixth grade from going to school. Following that, all universities and schools closed to girls.
Although the officials of this group repeatedly announced that they are working on the plan to reopen schools and universities for girls; But after two years, these words have not been implemented.
