The European Union strongly condemned the violation of human rights, especially the violation of women’s rights in Afghanistan, and says that the Taliban must stop all violations of international humanitarian law.
These statements said by this union at the same time as the 78th session of the United Nations Assembly was held in New York.
The European Union published a statement last night (Monday, the 18th of September) saying that the withdrawal of women’s rights in Afghanistan is unacceptable for this union.
“We call on the Taliban to end all human rights violations and violations of international humanitarian law in Afghanistan,” the statement said.
The statement also emphasized the support of Afghan women to achieve their political, economic, social and cultural rights.
At the same time, the European Union announced that it will provide the situation for a great meeting with the aim of sharing the demands and challenges of Afghan women with the world’s female leaders.
The European Union’s resolution on supporting Afghan women is supposed to be presented by the Swiss Vice President at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
