The Minister of Foreign Affairs of France said in the United Nations General Assembly that the Taliban put the opposition to Afghan women and girls at the center of their policies.
She said that in Afghanistan, women and girls are persecuted because of their gender. Emphasizing her country’s support for the Afghan people, especially Afghan women, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna asked the Taliban to immediately cancel all restrictions on women and girls, including banning them from attending schools and universities and working in the humanitarian sector.
At the same time, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs committed to providing 1.5 million euros to Afghanistan through the World Food Program by the end of this year.
Based on this statement, France hosted more than thirteen thousand Afghans, including judges, journalists, artists, and human rights activists, from August 2021 until now.
Also, since August 2021, this country sent 140 million euros to the people of Afghanistan.
