The spokesperson of the United Nations Secretary-General on the sidelines of the meeting “Fighting Gender Apartheid; The situation of women and girls in Afghanistan” said, that a message from the United Nations to the Taliban is that this organization will stay with the women of Afghanistan until the end.
He said that helping women and girls deprived of the right to education in Afghanistan is one of the priorities of this organization.
Stéphane Dujarric, the spokesperson of the UN Secretary-General, said today (Friday, 22nd of September) that without female employees, UNAMA cannot carry out many of its activities successfully inside Afghanistan.
According to him, currently, Afghan women continue to work from home.
Dujarric adds that Roza Otunbayeva, the UN Secretary General’s special envoy, is scheduled to speak about Afghanistan on behalf of the UN in Afghanistan next week at a meeting of the Security Council.
