Nasir Ahmad Faiq, head of Afghanistan’s delegation to the United Nations, has called this act un-Islamic and inhumane in response to the Taliban’s ban on the study trip of Afghan female students.
The Taliban yesterday (Wednesday, Aug 23 2023) prevented the travel of one hundred female Afghan students who wanted to fly from Kabul Airport to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to study at “Dubai University”.
The prevention of girls’ group study trip by the Taliban has caused widespread reactions.
Nasir Ahmad Faiq, the head of Afghanistan’s representative to the United Nations on Platform X, regretted the occurrence of this incident and wrote that the Taliban are doing this “to keep people in ignorance and darkness”.
Khalaf Bin Ahmad Al Habtoor, the Emirati billionaire who provided the education for these girls at Dubai University, also called this action of the Taliban a deep tragedy and a blow to the principles of humanity, education, equality and justice.
In the last two years, after the Taliban imposed extensive restrictions on the education and travel of women in Afghanistan, this is not the first time that the Taliban have prevented the educational travel of Afghan girls abroad.
