Some members of the Women’s Solidarity Movement of Afghanistan have demanded the release of three women activists imprisoned by the Taliban.
These protesters women have stated in a statement on Wednesday, October 25th, that international human rights and civil organizations should exert pressure on the Taliban for the release of Julia Parsi, Neda Parwani, and Manizha Seddiqi, three members of the self-organized women’s protest movement
The statement of this movement states: “The imprisonment of these activists without any crime is a clear example of the Taliban’s crimes against humanity.”
They have stated that by imprisoning protesting women and social activists, the Taliban has caused fear and psychological insecurity among the protesting women and we cannot express the behind the scenes facts and crimes of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Over the past two years, the Taliban has imposed restrictive measures on all aspects of women’s and girls’ lives in Afghanistan, and they have dealt with protesters against these restrictions inside Afghanistan in the most severe manner.
