Esmatullah Moradi, the Tali-ban spokesperson in Faryab, disclosed that the young girl, identified as Firoza, was found hanging in her residence in the village of “Alti Bulak” within the Qaramqol district on the night of Saturday, March 23rd, bringing a tragic end to her life.
While the Tali-ban attribute Firoza’s suicide to “psychological illness,” residents of the area assert that the underlying cause was domestic violence, casting a somber shadow over the circumstances leading to her untimely demise.
This sorrowful event underscores a concerning trend in Faryab Province, where over the past eighteen months, suicide rates among women have surged to unprecedented levels.
