The sixth meeting of the Exiled Media Forum was held in Hamburg, Germany

The sixth meeting of the Exiled Media Forum, attended by numerous journalists from around the world, took place in Hamburg, Germany. This two-day conference, which began on Tuesday, October 15, with the participation of journalists from Afghanistan, Myanmar, Russia, Turkey, Syria, Eritrea, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and several other countries, concluded yesterday evening.

During the conference, discussions focused on the legal status of exiled media in Germany, fact-checking of data, countering misinformation, and how exiled media can share accurate information with German journalists and media outlets. Journalists from various countries also shared their experiences in separate panels with each other.

Hanan Badr, a professor at the University of Salzburg; Makarovs from the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Maxim Rybyko from the Deutsche Welle Academy; and Hamed Abedi, head of the Afghan Journalists Center were among the notable guests at the event.

The Exiled Media Forum is part of Hamburg’s inaugural Press Freedom Week, organised by the initiative of the Körber Foundation.
