The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), in conjunction with World Water Day
(March 22), says that access to a clean and safe health facility is essential for children
undergoing treatment for malnutrition.
UNICEF Afghanistan stated today (Sunday, 2 Hamal) on X that, with financial support
from the United Kingdom, it provides water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services in
health centers across Afghanistan to improve the quality of care and treatment
outcomes.
Limited access to clean water is one of the serious challenges to the health of millions of
citizens in Afghanistan. Afghanistan has been experiencing drought for nearly a decade,
and the continuation of this situation has made access to safe water difficult for citizens
in both urban and rural areas
