Sources say that the Taliban have arrested Qudus Khatibi and Fayaz Ghori, two civil activists in Herat, on charges of writing in support of girls’ right to education.
Wahid Peyman, a journalist, reported the arrest of these two civil activists on his Facebook page.
The two activists had shared posts on their Facebook accounts the previous day in support of girls’ right to education.
Fayaz Ghori had expressed hope on his Facebook that one day the path to education would be reopened for girls in Afghanistan.
Qudus Khatibi had also called on the Taliban to reopen schools and universities for girls in Afghanistan.
