Local Taliban officials in Herat say that due to heavy rainfall and flooding, one woman and one man have died in the province.
Abdul Ghani Kamil, head of the Taliban’s Natural Disaster Management in Herat, said that today (Sunday, March 29), a residential house collapsed in Guzara district, killing a woman and seriously injuring her husband.
He added that another person died in Kohzur district of Herat due to flooding.
According to Kamil, a passenger vehicle of type “580” also overturned on the Herat–Kandahar highway due to floods.
He said all passengers in the vehicle were rescued and are safe.
Kamil further stated that flooding in the districts of Rabat-e-Sangi, Zawul, and Gulran has caused the destruction of a number of homes, agricultural lands, and the loss of livestock.
Yesterday, four people were killed in two districts of Badghis province due to flooding.
